Dashawn Sutton Arrested After Police Pursuit Crash
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 30, 2023) — Yolanda Reyna, 43, remains hospitalized in a coma following a violent crash involving a suspected DUI driver who was fleeing police.
The collision occurred at 7:43 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2023 at Main Street and Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and KTLA News.
Police attempted to pull over a stolen black pickup truck driven by Dashawn Sutton, 43, of Los Angeles, but he took off and led them on a chase. The driver allegedly drove through a red light and crashed into a Scion driven by the mother of three, leaving her critically injured and fighting for her life.
Police arrested the suspect following the collision after his vehicle became disabled near Gage Avenue.
Authorities arrested Sutton for Section 2800.3 VC “Evading Police Causing Serious Injuries or Death” and booked him into jail.
