Rollover Collision on I-5 Freeway Results in Major Injuries
YOLO COUNTY, Calif. (August 9, 2024) — One person suffered a head injury in a Yolo County crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway at the Dunnigan Rest Area.
The rollover traffic accident occurred at 6:05 a.m. on August 9th in the Dunnigan area of Yolo County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the person was trapped under a gold 2002 Ford Expedition with a major injury, but it’s unknown how many vehicles were involved in the collision.
Arriving firefighters extricated at least one person from the wreckage and requested a life flight by REACH helicopter to UC Davis.
Meanwhile, a tow truck came to remove the vehicle due to all-over rollover damage.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash at the Dunnigan Rest Area as well as liability.
