Man, Woman Injured in Wrong-way Crash on 91 Freeway
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2018) — A man and an elderly woman were hospitalized following a head-on crash involving a suspected DUI, wrong-way driver on state Route 91 Freeway near Gypsum Canyon Road, according to news reports.
The crash was reported at 12:50 a.m. this morning on Dec. 21. The suspected drunk driver crashed into another car, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged on their passenger sides. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Firefighters responded and treated both people at the scene before transported them to a hospital. The severity of their injuries was not disclosed.
Orange County Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision, but it appears that the suspected drunken driver is responsible and will be held accountable. The person who was struck by this driver may pursue a civil lawsuit against the wrong-way driver to recover their financial losses to include medical costs, lost wages, loss of consortium and property damages.
