Yordi Jose Del Toro Mendoza ID’d as Crash Victim
INDIO, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2024) — Yordi Jose Del Toro Mendoza, 29, of Indio, died early Sunday in a two-vehicle Indio crash at Monroe Street and Requa Avenue.
The deadly collision occurred at around 2:43 a.m. on Feb. 4th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Police responded to the intersection and located the victim trapped in his vehicle and he was rescued by Cal Fire Indio firefighters and taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital where he died shortly after his arrival. He was later identified as Yordi Mendoza.
Meanwhile, the second driver involved in the crash survived and cooperated with authorities.
The Indio Police Department is heading up the investigation.
