Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Freedom Boulevard
Aptos, CA (October 28, 2022) – Yosef Cohen, a 28-year-old Santa Cruz resident, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 1 Thursday morning.
The Santa Cruz Sentinel News reported a vehicle struck a male party in the southbound side of the highway near the Freedom Boulevard exit. Officials said the collision involved a 2008 Honda CRV.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Highway 1 in Aptos
Shortly after 6:30 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the pedestrian lying on the ground. Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The California Highway Patrol group later identified the deceased as Yosef Cohen.
The driver involved in the unfortunate event, a 66-year-old Aptos woman, appeared unharmed after the crash.
Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Highway 1 in Aptos.
