EL SOBRANTE, Contra Costa County (August 29, 2016) – A young bicyclist was injured after being struck on San Pablo Dam Road Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP first logged the incident when a juvenile riding a bicycle was hit by a vehicle at approximately 5 p.m. The collision occurred near the San Pablo Creek.
As per the dispatch, the cyclist was found down in the roadway following the crash. The rider was conscious but reportedly injured.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene to attend to the victim whose name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, CHP described the car involved as a dark green or black Honda. It was not immediately known if the driver stopped and stayed in the area after the accident.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
