At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Traffic Collision on Highways 96 and 263 Monday
Yreka, CA (September 20, 2021) – A car accident that occurred in the area of State Route Highway 96 and 263 resulted in injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Primary reports indicated two vehicles collided head-on at the Yreka junction. Officials described the automobiles involved in the crash as a full-sized pickup trucks both with extended cab.
The CHP logged the incident at about 2:50 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found one pickup truck careened off the roadway; and the other pickup truck came to a rest blocking the westbound lanes of the highway.

Paramedics checked the conditions of all the people at the scene. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed one person suffered major injuries as a result of the wreck. Additional details on the victim have not been revealed thus far.
