Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Yreka Crash Near South Main Street and Raymond Street

YREKA, CA (July 16, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash near South Main Street and Raymond Street in Yreka.

According to an article published by The Siskiyou Daily News, the accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 8:30 a.m.

The incident happened when a male pedestrian was apparently in a crosswalk on South Main Street near the intersection of Raymond Street.

Elderly Man Hit by Vehicle

Yreka police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Nature’s Kitchen.

Medical personnel found the elderly man who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. They then took to the Fairchild Medical Center for treatment.

Officials did not release the name of the wounded victim and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, Yreka police affirmed that the female driver stopped after hitting the pedestrian on South Main Street.

Officers forced the area to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
