YUBA CITY, Calif. (Nov. 23, 2021) — A Yuba City crash happened Tuesday afternoon on southbound Highway 99 and Sacramento Avenue.
One person suffered major injuries in the two-vehicle traffic collision about 2:43 p.m. on Nov. 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It’s unknown what led up to this collision, but two white cars collided and one of them wound up in a ditch. A good Samaritan used their vehicle to block traffic from further impacting the involved vehicles.
One person became trapped in their car with a broken leg and other injuries. Paramedics responded due to major injuries reported following the crash. In fact, one person became unresponsive at the scene, according to the Yuba City Police Department.
Also, a helicopter reportedly air-lifted one person to a hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
Additionally, CHP officials requested two tow trucks report to the scene as vehicles suffered major damage in the crash. Multiple lanes were blocked by the collision leading to a SigAlert.
CHP investigators seek to determine fault for the Yuba City crash on Highway 99 and witnesses may contact them.
