2 Killed in Yuba City Crash at Plumas Arboga and Forty Mile Roads
YUBA CITY, CA (April 15, 2021) – A motorcycle crash killed two people at Plumas Arboga Road and Forty Mile Road in Yuba City.
According to the CBS Sacramento and Action News Now, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4 p.m.
The incident began when 60-year-old Samuel J. Hubbard driving a Chevy 2500 west on Forty Mile Road stopped at the Plumas Arboga Road intersection.
The Plumas Lake man told the California Highway Patrol that he checked both ways and did not see any oncoming vehicles. Soon after, he started pulling into the intersection.
Motorcycle vs Car Collision in Yuba City
At the same time, a Harley Davidson was going north on Plumas Arboga. The 66-year-old Sacramento man operating the motorcycle applied the brakes and swerved left to avoid collision.
CHP said the rider failed and then collided with the Chevy. The motorcycle operator and his passenger, 50-year-old Sacramento resident, ended up ejected from their bike as a result of the wreck.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced both of them dead at the scene. Their names have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Hubbard did not sustain any injuries upon impact. The cause of the fatal Yuba City crash is still under investigation.
