Double Fatal Car vs. Truck Crash on Highway 43 Wednesday
Wasco, CA (October 1, 2020) – A fatal traffic collision occurred on Highway 43 Wednesday morning, the KGET News reported.
Our sources indicated the accident in Wasco took place at about 6:30 a.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed a truck tractor pulling a set of bottom dump trailers and a Honda Civic drove into the intersection of Highway 43 and McCombs Avenue at the same time. Officials said the truck was heading south on Highway 43, while the Civic was heading westbound on McCombs.
The news article mentioned the truck slammed into the passenger side of the Honda. As a result, the two female occupants in the Honda were pinned. Responding emergency teams rescued the victims, and later pronounced them deceased.
Yuleny Diaz, 29, Killed in Wasco Car Accident
The coroner identified one of the fatal victims in the Wasco accident as 29-year-old Yuleny Elizabeth Castrejon Diaz, of Bakersfield.
Meanwhile, the operator of the truck appeared unharmed after the incident.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to determine who had the right of way at the time of the collision. Further investigation on the deadly crash is ongoing.
