Woman, 51, ID’d as Victim of Crash in Van Nuys
VAN NUYS, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2023) — Yuvitza Quintero, 51, died in a crash last Thursday morning on the northbound Interstate 405 Freeway at Sherman Way in Van Nuys.
There were two collisions that occurred around 6:21 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the accidents involved three vehicles and one fatality and the other collision was a two-vehicle minor injury crash.
The vehicles involved included a white Toyota Camry, a Jeep Wrangler, a tan Honda Civic, a silver Toyota C-HR
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the northbound 405 Freeway to help those injured, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Yuvitza Quintero died at the scene and three others were treated for undisclosed injuries. Two people were transported to a hospital for further treatment, the LAFD reports.
Police issued a SigAlert and closed down the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes due to the crash, cleanup and investigation. At least three tow trucks responded to remove vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal crash on the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys.
