
Woman Struck in Baldwin Hills Crosswalk
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 24, 2024) – Yvonne Parks, 40, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident while walking in a crosswalk at Obama Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard near Baldwin Hills.
The deadly crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. to 5798 W. Obama Blvd., according to KTLA News.
A driver in a dark-colored Toyota Camry was reportedly speeding through the intersection and struck the woman in the roadway.
Los Angeles Police Department officers and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and located the woman deceased on scene. The woman’s boyfriend, who was with her and witnessed the crash, was at her side.
Authorities are searching for the suspect who fled in the Toyota heading north on La Cienega Boulevard after he hit the woman.
Investigators are working to locate the suspect who fled the scene.
The city of Los Angeles has a standing $50,000 reward for tipsters who provide information that leads to a conviction in a fatal hit-and-run.
