2 Killed, 1 Critical after Car Crashes into Building in Diamond Bar
DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2018) – Zhiyuan Li, 24, and Ao Li, 22, both from China, were killed and another was critically injured Tuesday night after the car they were riding in crashed into an apartment building, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The crash was reported about 11:40 p.m. in the 23600 block of Golden Springs Drive. A driver in a BMW with two passengers crashed into an apartment building, police said.
Zhiyuan Li, who was driving the BMW, was allegedly traveling too fast and was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The BMW reportedly jumped the curb, drove through some bushes and slammed into the building, police said.
Paramedics responded and pronounced two people in the car dead at the scene. A third person survived and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Wrongful Death Investigation
The investigation into this collision is underway to determine fault.
