Zora Culps, 20, Seriously Injured in Humboldt County Crash on Highway 101
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (November 24, 2022) – A fatal crash on Highway 101 left Zora Culps in Humboldt County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 20-year-old Eureka woman as the victim of the wreck which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Zora Culps was driving a 2017 Subaru Impreza south on Highway 101, north of mile post marker 32.30, in Humboldt County.
At the same time, a 1997 Toyota 4Runner was going north. For an unknown reason, the Toyota crossed over the solid double yellow divider lines into the southbound lane.

CHP said the 4Runner then went directly into the path of the Subaru. In the process, the Toyota slammed head-on into the Impreza.
The Times Standard and KYMKEMP wrote that the accident occurred on November 19 at about 3:54 p.m. near Myers Flat and Laytonville.
Zora Culps sustained moderate to major injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed her to the St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the 4Runner, 34-year-old Laytonville resident Beatriz Diaz-Rodriguez, died at the scene of the collision.
Meanwhile, officers forced the southbound lanes of the highway to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Humboldt County crash is still under investigation.
