2-Vehicle Car Accident on State Route Highway 138
LITTLEROCK, Calif. (April 29, 2024) – Five people died Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on the Pearblossom (138) Highway at 106th Street East in Littlerock.
The deadly crash occurred on Highway 138 at around 8:12 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th, according to KTLA 5 News and the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a blue or gray Mitsubishi sedan and a blue Toyota Yaris collided due to unknown circumstances on the eastbound side of Pearblossom Highway, police said. The Toyota overturned onto its roof in the brush on the side of the road and the Mitsubishi wound up on its side on the shoulder of the highway.
Several people became trapped in the two cars and both drivers and two passengers from the vehicles died at the scene. A third passenger was airlifted to a hospital where they later died.
UPDATE: One of five killed in Littlerock crash is identified
The identities of the victims will be released after their relatives are notified.
Investigators closed down 106th Street East and are working determine the cause of the Littlerock crash on Pearblossom Highway.
The roadway reopened to traffic about 4:30 a.m. the next day.
