Samantha Molina Arrested Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Harbor 110 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 26, 2023) – Samantha Molina, 23, of Los Angeles, was arrested Friday following a deadly, wrong-way crash on the Harbor 110 Freeway in downtown.

Taxi driver, Ken Balayev, 71, of Calabasas, died in the head-on crash at 2:49 a.m. on May 26th, near Exposition Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Additionally, a passenger from the taxi, Richard Wold, and a passenger from the wrong-way driver’s Chevrolet, Francisco Gil, were injured in the collision. .

Samantha Molina was reportedly driving a black Chevrolet southbound in the northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway when she collided with a taxi driven by Ken Balayev, according to MyNewsLA.

The taxi driver died at the scene and paramedics transported Richard Wold, Francisco Gil and Samantha Molina to a hospital with minor to major injuries. Police placed Molina under arrest at the hospital, but charges have not been disclosed.
