Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Pickup Truck
ATWATER, Calif. (July 27, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident happened Thursday morning at Atwater Jordan Road and Applegate Road in Atwater, Merced County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 8:03 a.m. on July 27th, near the Atwater Packing Co., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in a Ram pickup truck collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle rider, police said. One of the motorists may have drove through a stop sign at the 4-way intersection.
The motorcyclist went down in traffic lanes and suffered fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, the truck was found partially in the northbound lane after the collision. The truck blew out its front axel and required a tow truck.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the two-vehicle collision, but authorities are investigating.
