Fatal Motorcycle Accident Pomona 60 Freeway, Mountain Avenue, Chino
Multi-Vehicle Crash on SR-60 Westbound, Near Mountain Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif., (Sept. 21, 2026) — A motorcycle rider died early Monday morning in a multi-vehicle car accident on the westbound Pomona 60 Freeway in Chino near Mountain Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported on Sept. 21st at approximately 5:55 a.m., involving a green motorcycle, a utility truck, and an additional unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred on the westbound lanes of State Route 60, blocking the HOV and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes, resulting in a significant traffic disruption. A SigAlert was issued at 6:21 a.m. as emergency crews worked to secure the scene.

The motorcyclist was reportedly down in the roadway, with the rider lying in the lanes. Pomona Police Department arrived on the scene alongside the California Highway Patrol and fire department units.
Tragically, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the other vehicles involved or any other possible injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, who are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist in the investigation.
