Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on Pomona 60 Freeway, Central Avenue, Chino

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif., (Sept. 21, 2026) — A tragic collision on the Pomona 60 Freeway between a semi-truck and an abandoned Lexus resulted in a fatality early Monday morning near Central Avenue in Chino.

The deadly crash was one of two reported this morning within a mile of each other. The first involved the death of a motorcyclist.

The incident occurred on Sept. 21st at approximately 6:32 a.m. near the junction of State Route 60 and Central Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol report. The CHP dispatch log stated a semi-truck reportedly drove up an embankment and collided with the stationary Lexus sedan.

Emergency responders, including the fire department and paramedics, swiftly arrived at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a hospital for evaluation and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The identities of those involved in the crash have not yet been released, pending notification of family members. The California Highway Patrol is currently handling the investigation and has requested that any witnesses to the incident come forward to assist.

The circumstances leading to the semi-truck’s maneuver and subsequent collision with the Lexus remain under investigation.
