Woman Struck, Killed on Newland Street in Midway City Area
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened early Wednesday morning on Newland Street, just north of Bolsa Avenue in the Midway City area of Westminster.
The deadly collision occurred at around 5:46 a.m. on Dec. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white Honda sedan struck the woman in the roadway due to unknown circumstances.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the woman’s death at the scene.
Meanwhile, a tow truck responded to remove the vehicle and the driver cooperated with the investigation into what caused the pedestrian accident on Newland Street in Westminster.
Pedestrian Traffic Accidents in Westminster
This is the second fatality involving a pedestrian at this intersection. A 93-year-old man riding a bicycle died in a collision with a vehicle back on September 17th.
Also, the city of Westminster had 34 pedestrian and 26 bicycle accidents involving an injury or fatality in 2021, according to statistics compiled by the Office of Traffic Safety.
