
Two Men Killed in Car Accident, on Van Buren Boulevard
Riverside, Calif. (June 27 2023— Two men were killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Riverside on Van Buren Boulevard, in Riverside Sunday night.
The collision occurred about 11:48 p.m. on June 25th, according to KTLA News.
A 17-year old Perris resident driving a 2011 GMC pickup truck was allegedly speeding down Van Buren Boulevard. He reportedly lost control of the car and struck two pedestrians and a German Shepard dog. One pedestrian was identified as Kevin Olivera and the other being a man in his 30s, according to a report by ABC7. Kevin Olivera recently welcomed a new born baby before the accident.
Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced both pedestrians deceased. The teenage driver was detained but suffered internal injuries so he was taken to the hospital.
Investigators are continuing to work on the case to determine fault, along with finding out if alcohol was involved.
