Fatal Selma Crash on Highway 99, Near 2nd Street
One Killed in Car Accident on State Route 99 in Selma
SELMA, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2023) – One person died in a two-vehicle crash in Selma Monday night on Highway 99, just south of 2nd Street.

The collision occurred just before the construction lane split at around 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 16th, the California Highway Patrol said.
The drivers of a Chevrolet Express van and a Ford Explorer SUV collided due to unknown circumstances, Your Central Valley reports. A 71-year-old woman from the SUV died and three others in the same vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Police responded and closed down the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of the highway.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 99 in Selma.
