Man, 47, Killed in Littlerock Crash is Identified
LITTLEROCK, Calif. (April 30, 2024) — Fernando Gomez Paniagua, 47, died in a crash between a semi-truck and a minivan early Monday morning on Pearblossom Highway 138 near Hampel Avenue near Littlerock.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 5:28 a.m. on April 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened less than 24 hours after another deadly crash that took the lives of five people on Pearblossom Highway.
The drivers of a semi-truck and a gray Honda minivan were involved, but it’s unknown at this time what led up to the traffic accident.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and confirmed the death of Fernando Gomez Paniagua at the scene. His name was released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff-Coroner.
The diesel truck was possibly on the right shoulder with its hazards on at the time of the collision. Police closed down Highway 138 to clear debris from the roadway, tow the damaged vehicles and conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.
