Timothy Perez, 43, Injured in Jamestown Fatal Crash on Highway 108
JAMESTOWN, CA (June 2, 2023) – A fatal DUI crash left Timothy Perez injured on Highway 108/49 at the roundabout in Jamestown.
The California Highway Patrol identified that the 43-year-old Stockton man as the victim in the wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Timothy Perez was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue east on Highway 108 about 25 mph west of Jamestown. At the same time, a 2009 GMC Yukon was traveling west at a high rate of speed.
CHP said the GMC approached the roundabout and then made an unsafe turning movement. The Yukon slammed into a metal light pole and rolled multiple times.
DUI Driver Killed in Wreck
Debris from the GMC struck the Nissan in the process. The Union Democrat and My Mother Lode wrote that the collision occurred on May 28 shortly after 5 p.m.
Timothy Perez sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.
The driver of the GMC, 40-year-old Jesus Rubio, ended up ejected from his car due to the impact of the collision. He soon died at the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Meanwhile, deputies determined that Jesus Rubio was under the influence at the time of the wreck. The Jamestown crash is still under investigation.
