2 Dead Pomona Hit-and-Run Crash on 10 Freeway
Pomona, Calif. (October 12, 2020) – Alicia Del Cid, 19, was one of two people who died in a pedestrian accident Sunday on Interstate 10 Freeway.
The young woman and a man were seen standing on the roadway around 3:40 a.m. A driver in a westbound vehicle eventually struck both of the pedestrians.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene near Towne Avenue where they tried to save the man and woman. Unfortunately, they both pedestrians died as a result of the crash. The identity of the man has not been released, but the woman’s name was released by the Los Angeles County Coroner.
A second vehicle may have also been involved in the collision, but apparently fled the scene before police arrived. The driver of the first car that hit the pedestrians pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway and cooperated with police. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
