Woman Killed in Deadly Cabazon Pedestrian Accident on I-10 Freeway
CABAZON, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2020) — A fatal Cabazon pedestrian accident was reported Wednesday on the Interstate 10 Freeway.
The pedestrian was struck by a semi-tractor trailer truck about 3:37 a.m., just west of Haugen Lehmann Way.
The California Highway Patrol reported the woman who died may have jumped in front of the eastbound truck. Cal Fire Riverside responded and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman’s body was located between the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes in front of a Forbes billboard sign. Also, the woman’s name was not released pending notification of her family. Additionally, the CHP report did not state how old she was or where she is from.
Traffic backed up for roughly 10 miles into Banning, police said. Investigators are seeking to find out what led to the crash and liability. Witnesses are urged to contact authorities to help them with the investigation.
