2 Killed Pomona Hit-and-Run Crash on 10 Freeway
Pomona, Calif. (October 13, 2020) – Matthew Martinez, 20, and Alicia Del Cid, 19, both were killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday on Interstate 10 Freeway.
The young man and woman were reportedly standing on the roadway around 3:40 a.m., according to police.
Meanwhile, an oncoming motorist heading westbound on the freeway apparently struck both of the pedestrians.
As a result of the crash, paramedics responded to the Pomona crash scene where they attempted to save the man and woman, however, both pedestrians died at the crash scene. Both victims were identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner.
Furthermore, there may have been a second vehicle involved in the collision that fled the scene. However, the first driver who hit the pedestrians stopped and cooperated with police. That driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
A full investigation is underway by police to determine fault.
