Multi-Vehicle Crash in Merced on Highway 99
MERCED, Calif. (April 18, 2022) — A chain-reaction car accident happened Monday on Highway 99, just north of State Route 59 in the Merced area.
The crash occurred in the southbound lanes about 4:38 a.m. on April 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police report that two vehicles collided and a third vehicle T-boned one of them as it spun out of control. The vehicles involved included a Toyota Camry and a white Chrysler sedan.
Paramedics responded and transported a 58-year-old woman to a hospital. The woman, whose last name is Hernandez, suffered pain in her left shoulder, hip, leg, chest and side, the report said.
A semi-truck reportedly had dashcam footage of the crash, but was not involved, police said.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault.
