Woman Killed; Saul Ceja Injured in Kings County Crash
KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (January 13, 2021) – Saul Ceja, 51, of Armona, was hurt Tuesday, Jan. 5th in a fatal crash on Highway 198 in Kings County.
The crash happened about 5:50 p.m. on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reports Saul Ceja and his female passenger were driving a 1998 Toyota westbound on Highway 198. Meanwhile, a 2017 Hyundai driven by Rayshon Espirito, 27, of Visalia rear-ended the Toyota.
Upon impact, the Toyota overturned multiple times before it landed on its left side. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old Armona woman seated in the right-front passenger seat of the Toyota died in the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner has not released the woman’s name.
Furthermore, Ceja suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
A full investigation into the cause of the crash and liability is underway. Finally, witnesses are urged to contact the CHP.
