10-Vehicle Crash on the I-5 Freeway in Castaic
CASTAIC, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2022) — A Castaic pile-up crash involving roughly 10 motorists happened Monday morning shut down the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Templin Highway.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred about 5:38 a.m. on Oct. 17th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Some of the drivers involved included a red Toyota Camry, a white Ford pickup truck, a white Toyota Avalon, a semi-truck, a Subaru Outback, and two white vans.
Police issued a SigAlert as several lanes were blocked by the vehicles. Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but there are no further details.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed the red Toyota, the Subaru, the white Avalon, the big rig truck from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
