2 Airlifted, Hospitalized After Car Accident Near Vasquez Canyon Road Monday
Santa Clarita, CA (May 17, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries following a car accident on Sierra Highway Monday evening, the KHTS News reported.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle for an unknown reason Sierra Highway. The driver, however, failed to yield and sped away heading south on the highway. Officials then initiated a pursuit on the suspect.
The chase continued until the suspect lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a pole along Sierra Highway. Per article published online, the crash took place near Vasquez Canyon Road.

When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found two people trapped in the wreckage. Our sources mentioned firefighters successfully pulled out the two parties shortly after 8:50 p.m.
A helicopter later responded to the incident, and airlifted the two people injured from the collision. The names of the patients, and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.
Authorities shut down the intersection of Sierra Highway and Vasquez Canyon Road until about 9 p.m. to give way to the investigation process. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the car crash in Santa Clarita.
