Pedestrian Badly Injured in Bakersfield DUI Crash on Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 27, 2021) – A pedestrian was badly injured after a DUI crash on Union Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the incident at around 4:37 a.m.
Police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian in Bakersfield. The female driver hit him in the 1800 block of Union Avenue near 18th Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found the man who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took him to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the victim and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police determined that the motorist was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Authorities soon arrested her for DUI.
Officers forced a portion of Union Avenue to close for a short time following the DUI crash. The Bakersfield pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
