BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 29, 2021) – A crash killed one person and injured two others at Brundage Lane and Madison Street in Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident occurred on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 11 a.m.

The incident began when a motorcycle rider was traveling at a high rate of speed on East Brundage Lane, approaching Madison Street, in Bakersfield.

Police said a truck then entered the intersection. In the process, the male motorcyclist failed to stop in time and broadsided the other vehicle.

The truck rolled onto its side due to the impact of the collision.  Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the rider dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the truck, a man and a woman, sustained minor injuries following the incident. Medical personnel took them to a hospital for treatment.

The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officials forced the intersection of Brundage and Madison to shut down after the collision.

The fatal Bakersfield crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 661-327-7111.
