Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 50
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 12, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 50 in Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:17 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason in Sacramento. The two crashed on westbound Highway 50, just east of the Interstate 80 Business.
Driver Hits Motorcycle Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist down on the ground and bleeding from the arm as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver involved did not stop to render aid to the rider and fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the motorist.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of Highway 50 to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Sacramento hit-and-run crash.
