Motorcyclist Injured in Fremont Crash on Northbound Interstate 880
FREMONT, CA (June 18, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 880 in Fremont.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Friday afternoon. According to their dispatch team, officers reported the wreck shortly before 1 p.m.
CHP said the rider of a blue sports motorcycle, a white truck and a third vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Fremont. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 880, just north of Thornton Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide Near Thornton Avenue
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the city of Newark. They found the motorcyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP closed the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 for half an hour following the crash. They did not mention if the other drivers involved ended up hurt or if they stopped after the collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Fremont wreck.
