Esteban Barreto, 27, Killed in Hanford Crash at 6th and Excelsior Avenues
HANFORD, CA (July 15, 2021) – Esteban Barreto was critically injured after a fatal car crash at 6th Avenue and Excelsior Avenue in Hanford.
Friends identified the 27-year-old man as one of the victims in the collision which took place on Saturday morning.
The incident began when Esteban Barreto was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry in the area of 6th and Excelsior avenues in Hanford.
For an unknown reason, a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck ran a stop sign. The California Highway Patrol said the Dodge then struck the Toyota in the intersection.
Woman, 29, Killed in Car Collision
The passenger in the Camry, a 29-year-old Kingsburg woman, died as a result of the collision. ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident occurred on July 10 at around 11:30 a.m.
Esteban Barreto sustained critical injuries following the Hanford crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Kaweah Health and soon transferred him to the San Jose Regional Medical Center.
Officials added that he remained in the ICU. Friends set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the current and future medical bills of the wounded victim.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the wreck killed a dog riding in the Toyota at the time. The tragic Hanford crash is still under investigation.
