Motorcyclist Injured in Vista Crash on State Route 78 Near Emerald Drive
VISTA, CA (August 24, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash on State Route 78 in the city of Vista.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 4:07 p.m.
CHP said the rider of a black 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle, a white Mazda CX-5 and three other vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Vista.
They crashed on the eastbound side of State Route 78, just west of Emerald Drive.
Motorcycle and Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Palomar Medical Center Escondido for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound lanes of of State Route 78 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Vista crash is still under investigation.
