At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on San Diego (5) Freeway Sunday
Mission Viejo, CA (August 29, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway, Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol log, at least two vehicles collided in the northbound side of San Diego (5) Freeway. The accident took near the La Paz Road onramp in Mission Viejo.

Rescue teams arrived at the location shortly after 9:20 p.m. First responders found in the area a blue Audi A4. Meanwhile, the other vehicle involved in the collision apparently fled the scene without leaving any contact information to the occupants in the Audi.
The CHP dispatch later mentioned one person suffered injuries as a result of the incident. Additional details on the victim have not been revealed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation on the car crash in Mission Viejo is underway.
