1 Seriously Injured in Nevada County Crash at Highway 20 and Poker Flats
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (September 3, 2021) – A crash seriously injured at least one person at Highway 20 and Poker Flats Road in Nevada County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:30 p.m.
CHP said a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck collided for an unknown reason in Nevada County. The two crashed at the intersection of Highway 20 and Poker Flats Road.
Car and Semi-Truck Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Penn Valley area. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at the time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound Highway 20 at Poker Flats to shut down for more than one hour following the wreck. The cause of the Nevada County crash is still under investigation.
