Motorcycle Rider Seriously Injured in Oakland Crash on Interstate 880 Near 16th
OAKLAND, CA (September 10, 2021) – A motorcycle rider was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 880 in Oakland.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Thursday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 4:14 a.m.
The incident happened on September 9 when the motorcycle rider and a Toyota pickup truck collided in Oakland. The two crashed on the northbound Interstate 880 near 16th Avenue and 23rd Avenue.
Motorcyclist and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist down on the ground. The patient sustained an open fracture to their left arm and road rash as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to the Highland Hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the Nos 1 and 2 lanes of the northbound Interstate 880 to shut down for an hour following the wreck. The cause of the Oakland motorcycle crash is still under investigation.
