7 Injured After Car Crashed Into San Leandro 7-Eleven Store on 14th Street
SAN LEANDRO, CA (October 3, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after car crashed into a San Leandro 7-Eleven store on 14th Street.
According to the CBS San Francisco and KRON 4 News, the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:17 p.m.
San Leandro police said the incident happened when a sedan was backing in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven store. For an unknown reason, the sedan struck a parked car at 333 East 14th Street.
Its female motorist then accelerated forward and drove partway through the front entrance of the 7-Eleven store. The business obtained extensive structural damage upon impact.
Driver Hits Parked Car, Plows Into Store
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found a total of seven people hurt. The patients sustained minor to serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took all the wounded victims to the hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose their names and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police the driver of the sedan stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities. Officers forced the 7-Eleven store to close following the wreck.
The cause of the San Leandro car crash is still under investigation.
