Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Oildale Hit-and-Run at Washington and Chester
OILDALE, CA (October 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash at Washington Avenue and Chester Avenue in Oildale.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9:30 p.m.
According to CHP, a white Mitsubishi Highlander struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason in Oildale. The two crashed at the intersection of Washington and North Chester avenues.
Motorcycle Rider Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Standard School District. They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to the Kern Medical for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Mitsubishi abandoned the stolen car and fled on foot. The suspect left the passengers inside the vehicle.
Officers forced the area of Washington and Chester avenues to shut down following the wreck. The Oildale hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
