3 Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash at Chestnut and South Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 12, 2021) – Several were seriously injured after a car crash at Chestnut and South avenues in Fresno County.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 6 a.m.
The incident began when a gray vehicle was going west on South Avenue, approaching Chestnut Avenue, in Fresno County. For an unknown reason, its driver failed to yield the right-of-way in the intersection.
In the process, the gray car slammed into a white vehicle. The California Highway Patrol said the white car rolled onto its side upon impact.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, west of Fowler. They found a total of three people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
A person inside the overturned vehicle sustained major injuries. The two occupants of the gray car survived with moderate injuries.
Medical personnel then took the patients to a hospital for treatment. The reports did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the intersection of Chestnut and South avenues to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
