2 Injured in Smartsville Crash Near Chuck Yeager Road and Loretta Lane
YUBA COUNTY, CA (October 20, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash near Chuck Yeager Road and Loretta Lane in Smartsville.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 7:50 a.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Smartsville. They crashed on Chuck Yeager Road, just south of the intersection with Loretta Lane.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the cars as a 1999 white Jeep Cherokee and a 2005 silver Chevrolet Equinox. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They then found two people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. The report confirmed that at least one of them sustained major injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel took both patients to the Adventist Health and Rideout for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Chuck Yeager Road to shut down near Loretta following the wreck. The cause of the North Auburn crash is still under investigation.
