Man, 53, Killed in Hit-and-Run on Linda Vista Road Near Genesee Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 22, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Linda Vista Road in San Diego.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 7:45 p.m.
San Diego police said the incident happened when a male pedestrian was crossing Linda Vista Road south of Genesee Avenue. At the same time, a vehicle was going north.
As the 53-year-old man approached the east curb, the driver struck him. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene in the Linda Vista neighborhood.

Medical personnel found the victim seriously injured and left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They soon rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and and fled the area.
They described the car as a dark-colored SUV. Officers forced a stretch of Linda Vista Road to shut down for a time following the hit-and-run crash.
