Bicyclist Injured in Carmichael Hit-and-Run Crash at Fair Oaks and California
CARMICHAEL, CA (November 10, 2021) – A bicyclist was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Fair Oaks Boulevard and California Avenue in Carmichael.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the collision on November 9 at about 9:43 a.m.
The accident happened when a vehicle ran a red light for an unknown reason in Carmichael. The driver then struck the bicycle rider at the intersection of Fair Oaks Boulevard and California Avenue.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Victim
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Carmichael Elementary School. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the cyclist and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Fair Oaks and California to shut down following the collision.
The Carmichael hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
