Christopher Ramirez, 33, ID’d as Suspect in Modesto DUI Crash at Oakdale and Sylvan
MODESTO, CA (NOVEMBER 14, 2021) – Authorities detained Christopher Ramirez after a DUI crash outside a Modesto store.
Police determined that 33-year-old Modesto man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Christopher Ramirez struck a male pedestrian standing outside the Stop n’ Save Liquors & Groceries store in Modesto.
Police said he also crashed into a pump at a gas station at the intersection of Oakdale Road and Sylvan Avenue. The Modesto Bee and FOX 40 News wrote that the accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
The victim ended up pinned against the front wall as the car rolled into him. The car caught fire and pinned the Christopher Ramirez as a result of the crash.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and rescued the victim who suffered life-threatening injuries. They rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, Christopher Ramirez survived with minor wounds.
Officials provided treatment to his injuries. Police soon arrested Christopher Ramirez for DUI. The Modesto DUI crash is still under investigation.
