Man Killed in San Diego Bay Jet Ski Crash Under Coronado Bridge
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 20, 2021) – A jet ski crash killed one person and injured several other under the Coronado Bridge in San Diego Bay.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and CBS 8 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 12:30 p.m.
The Port of San Diego Harbor police said four jet skis collided for an unknown reason on November 19. The personal watercrafts crashed underneath the Coronado Bridge.
Several Injured in Watercraft Collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and rescued an unconscious and unresponsive jet ski rider from the water. The victim, as a man in his 20s, died at the scene.
Multiple other people sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took them to hospitals for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police closed the area under the Coronado Bridge to gather evidence and information on the crash.
The cause of the fatal San Diego jet ski incident is still under investigation.
