At Least 1 Hurt in Traffic Accident on Mojave Freeway Wednesday
Phelan, CA (November 25, 2021) – Several vehicles collided on Interstate 15, also known as Mojave Freeway, on November 24.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a multi-vehicle crash occurred on the southbound lanes of the freeway near an escape ramp. Officials described the automobiles involved in the accident as a Penske truck, a Toyota Prius, a black Mercedes van, and a black sedan.
Suspected DUI Car Crash on Interstate 15 in Mojave, Nocember 24
Preliminary investigation revealed a suspected drunk man driving the Toyota Prius triggered the crash. For an unknown reason, the Toyota Prius hit multiple vehicles on the freeway at about 3:57 p.m.
Following the collision, the man behind the wheel of the Prius did not stop and continued driving away. The hit-and-run suspect was last seen heading south on I-15.
Responding medical personnel immediately attended to all parties abandoned at the crash site. According to the CHP dispatch, one or more person suffered injuries as a result of the accident. The name and age of the victims remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the exact cause of the hit-and-run crash Interstate 15 in Phelan.
